Vampire Weekend performed on Monday night on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson to support their new single which is ‘White Sky’. The band has a few remixes of the new single by Basement Jaxx and Cecile floating around. You can watch the band’s performance below.

Vampire Weekend’s ‘White Sky’ is the next single from their new album “Contra”, hopefully it will get a video soon but for now it just seems to be getting the remix treatment. So far we have heard Basement Jaxx’s remix of the single and now we can hear a new remix by Cécile This remix is an entire reworking of the track turning it into seven-minutes of Balearic bliss. Annie Mac premiered a new remix on her show and it Basement Jaxx remixing Vampire Weekend’s new single ‘White Sky’. Most of the remix is kep intact and like Annie Mac says herself at the beginning of the song they make it sound more tropical. It definitely makes the songs ready for the dancefloor and takes away the guitar line. You can download the remix below.

Vampire Weekend are being sued by the model that appeared on the cover of their chart-topping album “Contra”, Kirsten Kennis. It turns out she didn’t give the band the right to use the photo and everything has become complicated since it is alleged that the photographer Tod Brody may have forged the signature of a Kirsten Johnsen, but the name of the person in the photo was Kirsten Johnson. Apparently Kirsten did not give Vampire Weekend her official seal of approval for her photograph to be used by the band for the cover of their second album “Contra”. The band has used the image to promote everything in relation to their album. According to TMZ she had no idea that the chart-topping album had her face on the cover, even though the band had been using it since November. The permission was said to be obtained from photographer Tod Brody, who took the original photograph back in 1983. Kirsten Kennis filed the laswsuit in the Los Angeles County Superior Court where she is using the band and photographer for $2 million. Did Kirsten wait for the band to accumulate money from the album and touring to file the lawsuit, or was it the fact that after eight months of the band promoting the new album that she suddenly found out her image was being used.

Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig has promised that the band will take more time to record their next album, which will be the band’s third. The band released their second album “Contra” earlier this year and haven’t really released any new material besides their contribution to the “Eclipse” soundtrack, ‘Jonathan Low’. Vampire Weekend played on The Colbert Report last week. The band is really stepping up promotion releasing a video for ‘Holiday’, previewing ‘Jonathan Low’ with Zane Lowe now they are being interviewed by pretend conservative Stephen Colbert. The band was interviewed by the anchor and talked about the oxford comma and performed ‘Holiday.’ You can watch the performance and interview below.
