Tame Impala Say They’ll Finish Second Album Before The End of the Year

Tame Impala
Australian psych-rockers Tame Impala just released their debut album “Innerspeaker” earlier this year but now the band has admitted that they have been recording new stuff ever since they were done recording their debut. In an interview with BBC 6Music the band’s frontman Kevin Parker admitted that they have been writing new material and recording and may be done with the second album by the end of the year:

“Yea, all the time, I’ve got a recording thing set up on my laptop now, so I can record whenever I can. New stuff started the day the album finished or even before the album, it’s kind of what I do and what we do compulsively at home which is record music. It’s kind of the only thing that I really enjoy… …It does sound quite different, just because I have more toys to play with this time around. It’s still really early though, we’ve got a lot of the new album worked out.
I guess not, I don’t know how long these kind of cycles go for, like I’m completely new to the world of releasing albums and then waiting and then touring and this kind of stuff, we just work with the right we’re comfortable with. Realistically we’ll have it done by the end of the year.

You can listen to the interview below where he also talks about the band touring with MGMT and the name of the band.
