Besides being keyboardist/songwriter/composer/vocalist/producer for Vampire Weekend and Discovery Rostam Batmaglij will now also be relesaing his solo output under the name Boys Like Us. Batmanglij first used the moniker when he remixed Foreign Born’s ‘Early Warnings’ a couple of months ago. This is what Batmanglij said about the name:
“The nature of Vampire Weekend thus far has been that none of our output has come from just one person in the band. So far everything we’ve done has come out of collaboration from at least two of us, and often the four of us, in various forms and to various degrees. For creative output that comes from just me I’ve taken on the name ‘Boys Like Us’ “.
His first release will be a remix of Jack Johnson’s ‘You and Your Heart’ on June 1 on 7″ vinyl. You can download his remix of Foreign Born’s track below.
