Damon Albarn

The Good, the Bad and the Queen

The Good, the Bad and the QueenWell since the year is beginning to end with December around the corner I have decided to write about my favorite albums of the year. This week I’ll write about the album The Good, the Bad and the Queen by a band with no name that features Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz) on vocals, Simon Tong (The Verve) on guitar, Paul Simonon (The Clash) on bass and Tony Allen (Fela Kuti) on drums. The Good, the Bad and the QueenThe album was recorded in Fall 0f 2006 and it came out by January 2007. It was produced by porducer Danger Mouse (The Grey Album, Gnarls Barkley, Demon Days, The Mouse and the Mask). The songs are all pretty evenly matched. Though I have to say that Danger Mouse might have went overboard with the production of the album. Certain parts of songs get lost in the over-production of it. But it is still a pretty good overall album. With songs like ‘Herculean’, ‘Green Fields’ and ‘The Good, the Bad and the Queen’, any Albarnaholic would be pleased with the album. Here are some acoustic versions of the songs notice how different they sound before Danger Mouse does anything to them. Enjoy.
