Deakin Rejoins Animal Collective

Animal Collective
Animal Collective’s “Merriweather Post Pavilion” was released last year to much fanfare but the Josh Dibb or Deakin left the band in 2006 and is now pursuing a solo career. As it turns out he is now back in the band and they will be playing their scheduled dates at the Primevera Sound Festival in Spain and ATP in London in May. Deakin, Panda Bear, Avey Tare are all however doing their solo thing right now, with Avery Tare just having released his new album, Deakin working on new material and Panda Bear releasing singles that will culminate in the release of “Tomboy” next year.


New Video: Memoryhouse – Heirloom

Memoryhouse have released the video for their b-side ‘Heirloom’. The track was the b-side for the single ‘Caregiver’ which was just recently released on Suicide Squeeze. ‘Heirloom’ was directed by Jamie Harley, like the song it show hazy images, a cute girl and bunch of hipsters dancing around a burning bus. The Strokes Finish New Album, Scrapped Earlier Album Session

The Strokes
The Strokes were reported to have been recording their new album early this year at New York City’s Avatar Studios but those sessions were scrapped. The band then decided to head upstate and recorded at Albert Hammond, Jr.’s studio. In an interview with Rolling Sone he spoke of the how the sessions went and shed some details about the new album. New Video: Polarsets – Morning

After self-releasing two singles Newcastle-Upon-Tyne’s Polarsets have released a video promo for the track ‘Morning’. It focuses on people hanging around just haging out. The videoi is much shorter than the actual cowbell driven track. You can watch the video below and listen to their other single ‘Leave Argentina’ below. You can listen to more from the band here.


MNDR Announces Tour Dates with Chromeo

After opening for Massive Attack and Miike Snow has announced that she will be opening for Chromeo early next year. She is currently putting the finishing touches on her upcoming debut album, the album is being produced by Peter Wade. Warner expects to release the album sometime next spring. New Video: Robyn – Dancehall Queen

Diplo produced the song now he directed the video for the song ‘Dancehall Queen’ along with Red Foxx and Pomp & Clout. The video features what looks like a filmed screen with the multi-color test pattern in the edges, along with weird images of a girl dancing and lip-synching the track. Atlas Sound Released “Bedroom Databank Vol. 1-4″ Last Week

Atlas Sound - Bedroom Databank Vol. 4
While most of the blogosphere was taking most of the week off because of Thanksgiving Bradford Cox was busy releasing four collections of demos from his Atlas Sound project. By Friday the albums were taken down from mediafire because Sony claimed the copyright on the songs. You can download Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3 and Volume 4.
