The Flaming Lips
The Flaming Lips performed on the Late Show with David Letterman. The band had just played a show at Central Park’s Summerstage a few days ago and a show with Fang Island at Terminal 5. They are still supporting their latest album “Embryonic”, the band performed ‘See The Leaves’ from the album. You can watch their performance below.

Hercules & Love Affair
Hercules & Love Affair made a splash in 2008 by releasing their disco-heavy self-titled debut album, now the band are set to be back next year with their second album “Blue Songs”. Leader of Hercules & Love Affair Andy Butler recently leaked some details to omg blog in an interview. Besides featuring Kim Ann Foxman it will also feature vocals from Bloc Party’s Kele Okereke, Venezuelan singer Aerea Negrot, and Shaun Wright. Mark Pistel produced the album and assisted with the recording. The band also recorded a cover of The xx’s ‘Shelter’ which will be released in November. New The xx – Shelter (John Talabot’s Feel It Too Remix)

The xx
The xx’s ‘Shelter’ has now been remixed by John Talabot. The song features a new bass heavy beat with a new feel to the song. The xx are still touring behind their debut album and will probably take a break after that. I think that the remix is official since it says it was released by their label Young Turks. Battles Working on Second Album, Announce Two Shows

Battles have announced that they ar ecurrently working on their second album and will be releasing it sometime in the near future via Warp. The band has also announced that they will be performing some new songs on the tour dates. Their label has said that the band describe their new material as magnaminous. Their upcoming live schedule consists of a show at (Le) Poisson Rouge on October 26, then on October 30 they will headline ATP’s annual Halloween extravaganza Release the Bats in London. Real Estate Record Daytrotter Session

If there’s anything that drew me to Real Estate is that shortly before they released their new album, the band announced that they would be releasing an EP of new material. Now they haven’t released any new material in a little while but now they just played two new songs for Daytrotter. The band played the track ‘Suburban Dogs’ from their debut “Real Estate”. The two new songs are titled ‘Art Fandelet’ and the second is still untitled. You can listen and download the songs for free here. The setlist for the session is below.
