New Video: Jónsi & Nico Muhly – Go Do & Stars Still In Water

Jónsi and Nico Muhly have performed a couple of tracks from Jónsi’s upcoming debut album “Go”. The duo performed the tracks ‘Go Do’ and ‘Stars Still In Water’ whiich is not on the album. Video of the session was capture at Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club in London. They play sparse versions of the tracks on the album just using piano, guitar and ukelele to fill out the songs. Delorean Sign To True Panther, Announce Debut Album Details

Delorean - Subiza coverBarcelona’s Delorean are the latest artist to sign with True Panther sounds, who have put out releases by Girls, Tanlines and Hunx & his Punx. They have announced that they will be releasing their debut album “Subiza” on June 8 for the label. Delorean and True Panther have also released a track from the album for free download and a video for the song. This is my first post on the blog now moved to WordPress. It’s sad because I’m not used to doing this and I shoud lbe better at it. It’s great that I backd everything up. The Dirty Projectors played a session for Australia’s Triple J radio and covered Bob Dylan, they also played an acoustic version of the “Bitte Orca” opener ‘Cannibal Sunrise’ sans bass and drums. New Video: Ted Leo & the Pharmacists – The Mighty Sparrow

Ted Leo & the Pharmacists have released the first video for a song off their new album “The Brutalist Bricks”. The video is for the opening track ‘The Mighty Sparrow’ which was previously available as a free download before the release of the new album. The video features the band playing the song in front of a white background with various objects around them like ballons. You can watch the video below.
Ted Leo & the Pharmacists also recently played on MPR. The band performed three songs from their new album “The Brutalist Bricks”. You can listen to the session in which they discuss their sixth album here. The setlist for the session is below.

Blitzen Trapper Announce New Album

Portland’s Blitzen Trapper have announced that they will be releasing a new album late this Spring. The band is currently signed to Sub Pop and it will be the second album that they are releasing on Sub Pop. The band has released a new song titled ‘Heaven and Earth’ as a free download and preview for what is on the new album. The album is titled “Destroyer of the Void” and will be released on June 8. Dirty Projectors Announce Unconfirmed Tour Dates, Third Orchestral Performance of 'The Getty Address'

Brooklyn’s Dirty Projectors broke out with the release of “Bitte Orca” last year gaining more fans and one of the best albums of the year. They have been performing the 2005 album “The Getty Address” with orchestras in New York City and Los Angeles. The band’s label Domino posted some of the band’s upcoming tour dates including a festival appearance at Lollapalooza but has since been removed. Dirty Projectors will play “The Getty Address” for the third time in London’s Barbican with Alarm Will Sound again and will also be playing some of the new tracks from “Bitte Orca”. Gorillaz Live at Wedgewood Rooms 3/21/10

This isn’t the best quality download but they are going to do, these are the first live shows from Gorillaz since their shows in Harlem at the Apollo Theater. Right now they aren’t the giant multimedia project that is supposed to be playing at Coachella in April but just the baacking band featuring Paul Simonon and Mick Jones as the bassist and guitarist. You can see in the videos from which the audio was ripped that they are wearing sailor outfits, you can watch the videos here. The audio was ripped and crowd noise was removed by unofficial Gorillaz website Gorillaz Mexico. The show still lacks all the guests but Albarn seems more comfortable with leading the band instead of hiding like a screen or the light, who knows maybe he will find a new way to hide once they start proper tour dates. You can download the entire show below. The sound quality is pretty great considering it was recorded on a camera phone!
