The UK’s new-rave band Klaxons have announced that they will finally be releasing their second album sometime this year. The band did not release their second album last year after the band refused to release it because they were a pop-band and were to record something along those lines. They re-recorded the second album again and now appear to be done with it. ‘Calm Trees’ wil be the single from the first album, I posted a live version of the song a long time ago here. It was produced by Ross Robinson and will be released on April 16 on 12″ vinyl. The single will have remixes from Telepathe, Soulwax, Simian Mobile Disco, Siriusmo, Crystal Castles, Todd Edwards, Gaspirator and Digitalism among others. This is what Ross Robinson said about the single: “It’s an atrociously violent song. However, it’s tinged with synth sounds of the ’70s.” Klaxons are currently working with Miles Aldridge on the video for ‘Calm Trees’. The single will probably hit the internet soon after it premieres on BBC Radio 1 in the beginning of April. Sorry fake press release, this is just as bad as when it happened with Justice.

All the other members of the Strokes seem to be busy recording a new album that will be released sometime later this year but Julian Casablancas is still out and about touring with his solo band. The Strokes’ frontman is still playing late night shows and last night stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. He performed ‘River of Brakelights’ from his debut solo album “Phrazes for the Young”. You can watch the video below. (Thanks to The Adio Perv). Last time he was on Late Night with JImmy Fallon he performed ‘I Wish It Was Christmas Today’.

Like that other early 2000s band that was said to have saved rock on this side of the Atlantic (The Strokes), The Libertines have reunited for a ridiculous sum of money to play some festival dates. The band originally released two albums, many singles and much more unreleased material. The band broke up after songwriting duo Pete Doherty and Carl Barât began to develop problems with each other in 2004. Now the band will be playing at the UK’s Reading and Leeds festivals this summer. According to The Guardian they will be payed £1.5 million or $2.25 million. Reading and Leeds are set to take place from August 27 to the 29. Hopefully they will be able to keep it together and make their way to the US for some shows unlike Blur.

The album has been receiving many mixed reviews and the band has even apologized for their new song ‘Flash Delirium’. The video is currently up on their website, you can watch the video there and download the new song below.

Gorillaz song ‘Rhinestone Eyes’ may not have been named as one of the singles from their new album “Plastic Beach” but it is certantly one of the standouts from the album. The song evolved from a demo released by Damon Albarn on his demo album “Democrazy”, titled ‘A Rappy Song’. Now the song has been remixed by Hooky giving the track a more dubstep feel. The song features nasty bassline, that gives the song a heavier atmoshere that ges more with the original track’s vocals. You can download the track belw.
