Alfredo Lapuz Jr.’s Immuzikation moniker had made a new remix. This time he combines two songs that have been catching some buzz in this new year. They are Yeasayer’s ‘Ambling Alp’ and Vampire Weekend’s ‘Giving Up The Gun’. The songs actually go way better than you think and doesn’t sound as forced as most mash-ups. Vocals from both songs seem to be delivered in the same way and the beart from ‘Ambling Alp’ makes the whole thing work really well. You can also check out another mash-up of Boy 8-Bit’s ‘The Cricket Scores’ and Disco Villains’ ‘Renegade Master’ here.

St. Vincent
St. Vincent or Annie Clark recently recorded a session for NPR-affiliate WXPN. In the session she discusses some of the recording aspects of the new album. Her choice to compose much of the music using Garageband was due to the paperthin walls of her Brooklyn apartment and the constant complains of hearing her guitar-strumming from her neighbors. She also played three tracks from her latest album “Actor”. The setlist for the session is below and you can listen to the interview session here.
