New Vivian Girls – He's Gone (Chantels Cover)

Vivian Girls have made their new b-side a cover of the Chantels’ ‘He’s Gone’ available for free. The song will be featured on their new single titled ‘My Love Will Follow Me’ which will be released on 7″. The band has been playing the song regularly on their tour in an acapella fashion. Jónsi Announce Album Release Date, New Video, World Tour

Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi has finally announced the release date for his debut solo album titled “Go”. The album has been confirmed for release on April 5, April 1 in Australia and April 2 in Germany and it may vary in many different countries. On Monday Jónsi will be announcing his first tour dates outside of Sigur Rós. DUring the first week of February he will also be releasing the video for his song ‘Go Do’, which was directed by Arni & Kinski. He also played an acoustic set for WNYC which you can listen to here. Panda Bear's New Album Gets A Title

Animal Collective’s Noah Lennox will be releasing another album under the name Panda Bear. This new album will be the follow-up to his 2007 album “Person Pitch”. gorillavsbear was the first to figure it out by looking at a t-shirt that was promoting the new album. The title of the new album will be “Tomboy”. It was confirmed to gorillavsbear by his publicist and is due out on Animal Collective’s label Paw Tracks sometime in September.

Acoustic Thursday: Girls, Pt. 2

I guess I’ll take another break from posting about Beck again, this time it will be an unreleased track from Girls. They have a lot of unreleased material possibly to stock up the follow-up to their debut “Album”. Girls performed four unreleased tracks for KDHX. ‘Broken Dreams Club’ was one of the tracks from that session. Like most other Girls’ it deals with self-doubt and the falling out of a relationship. Rain Machine Records Daytrotter Session

Kyp Malone’s solo project Rain Machine has recorded a session for Daytrotter. Last year while TV on the Radio were taking a break Kyp Malone recorded a solo project and toured for a bit even managing to open some shows for Pixies. For the session Kyp Malone is backed by an entire band and they played four tracks from the project’s self-titled album “Rain Machine”. Four tracks from the album were performed for the session. New Phoenix – 1901 (Memory Tapes Remix)

Memory Tapes or Dayve Hawk which is his real name posted on his blog a remix of Phoenix’s 2009 track ’1901′. He is a pretty prolific remix artist and itsnot eh first band he has remixed. This comes as a suprise and there are rumours that it will be released as a single soon but no official word has been said. Memory Tapes removes some of the song’s pop charm and makes the track more electronic with weird soundscapes and the original instrumentation in the background. You can download the track below.
