New Yeasayer – Ambling Alp

Yeasayer recently announced that they had signed to Secretly Canadian and are going to be releasing their second album, “Odd Blood” next year, now the band is giving away the first single from the album titled ‘Ambling Alp’. The single for the track is out now digitally and on limited edition 12″ vinyl featuring remixes by Memory Tapes and DJ /rupture, along instrumentals. Battles Announce European Tour

Battles have announced some European tour dates. The band has been touring ever since releasing their debut album, “Mirrored” in 2007. Tyondai Braxton released a solo album while the band was on hiatus but now the band is back and will be touring. They have played some of the Warp20 anniversary shows. Battles will also be playing the Warp20 party in London for the label and will be playing at the ten year anniversary of ATP. They will also play some shows in the rest of Europe. New The Soft Pack – Answer To Yourself

This is The Soft Pack’s first new single since the name change from the Muslims to the Soft Pack. Peter Gabriel First Album in Seven Years, Will Cover Arcade Fire, David Bowie, Radiohead

Peter Gabriel has announced that he will be releasing his first new album in seven years. The new album is titled “Scratch My Back” and will consist of covers from Bon Iver, Arcade Fire, David Bowie, Lou Reed and Paul Simon. The album was produced by Bob Ezrin. The album is said to be a “song swap” meaning that the artist that he covered will probably cover some of Peter Gabriel’s material. Composer John Metcalfe said about the album: “It’s a song swap, but the songs are not simply covers, they are quite major reinterpretations of some famous stuff. It’s quite radical and we’re hoping that people really get it and enjoy it.” He also says that the covers of Peter Gabriel’s material may be released once a month on his Gabriel’s Lunar Club. The Invisible Announce Three New York Dates

The UK’s breakout electronic-soul band The Invisible have announced that they are playing three dates in New York City next week. the band’s debut album was nominated for the Mercury Prize but did not win. These dates will be in support of their debut album here in the United States. One of the shows will be at the Brooklyn Bowl with two shows in the city. You can see the three tour dates below.
