Pete Doherty since the Libertines split in 2004 always talked about getting back together will Carl Barat. The band even reunited earlier this year on stage for a tribute concert for promoter Johnny Sedassy who played a part in booking gigs for the Libertines. The Soft Pack which were formerly known as the Muslims will be touring North America this Fall. The tour begins this September which features them in an opening slot with French pop-rockers Phoenix in California. The Soft Pack are also said to be working on their first album under their new moniker. They will be recording in Brooklyn this August with Eli Janney. Jarvis Cocker performed on last night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The former Pulp frontman performed the title track from his second solo album “Further Complications”. He did spark something within ?uestlove who wanted to ruin his performance. The Roots’ drummer tweeted: “hmmm. fighting the urge to get jarvis cocker for that MJ incident some years back. dude looks THROWED.” But he didn’t get him back, you can watch Jarvis’ performance below and what he did to Michael Jackson here
Last week I posted the first track from the session that Annie Clark did for Lake Fever Sessions. ‘Oh My God’ was posted last week and this week I’m posting ‘Actor Out Of Work’ which was the first single released from her sophomore album “Actor”. The songs for the session have been stripped down only to an acoustic guitar played by Annie. Remember when I posted earlier this week that Adam Forkner would be releasing a new album under White Rainbow once more, well now a new tune has surfaced from White Rainbow. The new track is not included on the album but it is something to keep people busy while the new album is released in October. The track moves along as one continous sound for the most part, almost ambient. Some harmonious vocals are thrown in sparsely but make more sound than actual lyrics. Passion Pit who released their debut album this year made an apperance last night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The band performed the first single taken from their debut “Manners”, ‘The Reeling’. I would’ve chosen ‘Sleepyhead’ but it is their choice. They performed a stripped down version of the song without the children’s choir which was featured on the original. Danish rockers The Raveonettes have recently revealed that they will be releasing their fourth album “In and Out of Control” on October 6 via Vice. To support the release of the new album the band will be touring North America to spread the word.
