Soft Record Daytrotter Session

New YOrk City rockers Soft played a session in Daytrotter studios. Of the four tracks that the band played two were from their album “Gone Faded”, ‘Droppin” and ‘Higher’ and they played a couple of unreleased tracks. You can check them out on myspace. Sigur Rós To Giveaway Compilation with Newspaper

If you are a Sigur Rós fan living in the UK and subscribed to London’s Independent, then tomorrow with your copy you will receive a CD with some Sigur Rós tracks. Tomorrow Saturday January 31 they will giveaway a nine-track CD titled “We Play Endlessly”. It features no new material or any exclusive tracks. “We Play Endlessly” contains three songs from their latest album “Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust” and 2005′s “Takk..”, two from “Hvarf/Heim” and one from the “Ba Ba Ti Ki Di Do” EP. Sigur Rós don’t have any forseeable plans to record new material anytime soon but they may be releasing a new documentary and live DVD. New Video: Final Fantasy – Horsetail Feathers

Owen Pallett has debuted a new video for a track from the “Plays to Please” EP, ‘Horsetail Feathers’. The video looks like it was made back in the 1970s, its kind of grainy. You can watch the video below. Final Fantasy also released a video for ‘Blue Imelda’.

Dan Deacon Announces Tour Dates Featuring a Band

Most of Dan Deacon shows occur as solo sets but with his new album, “Bromst” he seems to be changing. He is now going to take a backing band on some of his upcoming tour dates. All of his upcoming dates in Australia are solo shows while the tour dates with the backing band seem to be more in the North American section of the tour. You can see the tour dates below. This is what Dan sounded like last time he played with a band.

Coachella Announces 2009 Line-Up!

Finally after many months of speculation the real line-up for the tenth Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. The event will take place on held April 17-19 at Empire Polo Field in Indio, California. So far the headliners for the three nights include Paul McCartney, The Killers and the Cure. Other confirmed acts include Morrissey, My Bloody Valentine, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Beirut, TV on the Radio and Franz Ferdinand. Coachella tried to get My Bloody Valentine last year but Kevin Shields didn’t think that the band would be ready to play in time for the festival. Tickets go on sale today through Ticketmaster and Goldenvoice is offering layaway plans for three day passes which are available online thorugh February 28. This is the full line-up: (more…)




New Video: Jeremy Jay – Lite Beam

At first glance you may have noticed that ‘Lite Beam’ is actually a b-side on Jeremy Jay’s “Love Everlasting EP” and it is. But Jeremy Jay made a video for it anyway. The video is embedded in HD so don’t select to put it in HD it will only mess it up. You can watch the video below. Jeremy Jay also recently debuted the closing track from his second album “Slow Dance”.
