This week I found a couple of acoustic tracks I didn’t remember I had by Nada Surf. I don’t remember where I got them but I know that they were recorded by KEXP. There from a live acoustic concert. Both tracks are from the bands album ‘Let Go’.

They released their album a couple of days ago here in NYC. I wasn’t able to go to see their performance at the Virgin Store in Union Square. There is a lot of buzz surrounding this band and rumours that a backlash is coming up next for them. You won’t see the backlash here. Enjoy a Vampie Weekend song below.

Through their Myspace Blog yesterday Death Cab for Cutie announced that the title for their new album would be ‘Narrow Stairs’. The album will be out in stores in May. ‘Narrow Stairs’ will be their follow-up to 2005′s ‘Plans’. In an interview with Billboard the band told them that: “It’s really weird. It’s really, really good, I think, but it’s totally a curve ball, and I think it’s gonna be a really polarizing record. But I’m really excited about it. It’s really got some teeth. The landscape of the thing is way, way more lunar than the urban meadow sort of thing that has been happening for the last couple of records. [It's also] louder and more dissonant and … I think abrasive would be a good word to use. [We were influenced by] heavy, sludgy, slow metal [and] synth-punk band Braniac. “
On his blog yesterday Kanye West put up a poster of what is going to be the ‘Glow In The Dark’. The tour will feature Kanye West as the headliner and will feature Rihanna, NERD and Lupe Fiasco. No other information was given. You can see the original post here

Yesterday a track from Gnarls Barkley sophomore album, ‘The Odd Couple’, was leaked. You can find the track here at Mission Freak. It is entitled ‘Run’ and its a very fast paced track.
