The BBC recently announced that they are going to release a cover for their 40th Anniversary. The covers will be from songs of every year that BBC Radio 1 has been on. The Klaxons will appear on the record covering Blackstreets ‘No Diggity’. What’s interesting about this is that they had said that they wanted Dr. Dre to produce their next album and this track was produces by Dr. Dre. (Coincidence?) Here’s to hoping that he will produce the album:

This is not really new news, but the reunion is likely to happen on 10/1/07 in a restaurant when all of the memebers of the band meet up for lunch. They will all be there, hopefully they can decide to go to terms with one another and record a new record. Damon albarn who has quiet about this whole things spoke out recently in the October issue of Q Magazine. (Pictures of the article can be seen here, Thanks to Gorillaz-Unofficial.) In the article he says he is not sure if it will work out and that he is not even sure if he wants to do it, but is waiting to go to the studio to find out. Hopefully Graham Coxon and Damon Albarn can work out their diffenrences and make good music.

I have been listening lately to the ex-Blur guitarist Graham Coxon’s music. I find it very enjoybable. Earlier in the week I found his John Peel Session from 2004. For the Peel Session he covered “Min Trampolin” by bob hund, “Shipbuilding” by Elvis Costello, and “Been Smoking Too Long” by Nick Drake. He also plays his b-side “Right to Pop!”. Coxon ended up using the recording of “Right to Pop!” as another b-side. He recorded “Min Trampolin” in Swedish.

Kanye West's Graduation

Since the “album war” between 50 Cent and Kanye West started I’ve on Kanye Wests side. It started when I listened to “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” and then with “Stronger”. Kanye’s new album may not be his best work but it is still good. In Graduation he leaves behind some of his old ways like using strings and making skits, and replaced it with sampling Daft Punk and featuring Chris Martin on “Homecoming”. At the end of the day I think that his album is overall better than 50 Cent’s album “Curtis”. While I do think that with the tracks “I Get Money” and “AYO Technology” are good songs I think his album doesn’t have the overall feel that Kanye’s album has.
